"Welcome to Yala, the land where the wild things roam… and where every safari is a front-row seat to nature’s greatest show!"
At Tranquil Sanctuary Yala, we bring you closer to the incredible wildlife of Sri Lanka. From majestic elephants to colourful birds, and of course, the legendary leopard, every moment is a chance to be amazed.
Did you know? Yala National Park has the highest leopard density in the world! That means your chances of spotting one are pretty high — and if you’re lucky, you might even catch a leopard striking a pose.
Tip: Bring binoculars and a camera — you might see the leopard napping in a tree looking like it owns the place!
While the leopard steals the show, there’s plenty of incredible wildlife supporting characters:
Gentle giants, sometimes playful with mud baths.
Drama queens of the feather world, always showing off.
Crocodile & Monitor Lizards sunbathing by the banks.
Flamingos, pelicans, storks — an Instagrammer's dream.
Go early morning or late afternoon for the best animal sightings.
Keep your voice down; the animals appreciate polite company.
Stay in the vehicle — the wildlife might be cute, but it’s wild!
Bring binoculars, a camera, and a sense of wonder.
“We saw a leopard just chilling on a rock… it looked at us like ‘You’re late, humans!’”
“The elephants were so close we could almost hear them gossiping!”
“Birds, deer, peacocks — Yala is like a live wildlife theatre. Totally magical.”
